Walk through Brooklyn..

Finally a beautiful day in Brooklyn...It began with a walk to the Grand Army Plaza Farmer's Market then down Flatbush Ave to Montague Street, over to the Brooklyn Promenade and continuing through to the might Telectroscope. Have you heard about this? Its a tunnel that allows you to see London from Brooklyn through an optical device. It was pretty cool

Wii Fit

So, I set out this morning before work (7:45am) to see if there would really be lines for the new Wii Fit. I have been reading a lot about the new game and have always been interested in the Wii. I started with the Nintendo store at Rockefeller Center and sure enough, there were about 30 people in line. Then to Best Buy on 5th Ave where about 7 people were in line and then to Circuit City which is next door to Best Buy, only to find one guy.

I watched a demonstration yesterday and was intrigued. What interests me in the Wii, is that it is interactive, no more sitting on the couch and using your hands, this really lets you be involved and gets you up and moving. I'm not a fan of video games but the Wii may have won me over. Should I buy????

Marine Air Terminal

Did you know that Marine Air Terminal remains the only active airport terminal dating from the first generation of passenger travel in the United States. It was created in 1940.

“Steel Roots” by Steve Tobin, on exhibit in Prospect Park

Have you seen this before? If you've been outside Litchfield Villa in Prospect Park, then you probably have. This sculpture by Steve Tobin is part of the "Art in the Parks Program" which has been going on for over 40 years. What was originally supposed to be on display from Oct, 2007 to Jan, 2008 has been extended indefinately. It adds a nice touch to the park and now that it is spring time, looks great against the flowers and green grass. I recommend a view before it is taken from us.

Random Brooklyn Images

Some interesting images I found recently in Brooklyn...

The mini cooper is not that interesting except that the steering wheel can be found on the right side instead of left. It probably isn't as old as the original 1961 but I like to think its an old version.

Cherry Blossom Festival 2008

This past weekend was the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn. It wasn't sunny but the weather held out on Saturday.

5 Boro Bike Tour

Yesterday was the 5 Boro Bike Tour in Manhattan. 42 miles in all. The weather reports again proved they were wrong as the weather was perfect pretty much all day. The race is slow at times cause of the 30,000 people but I recommend to everyone who wants to take a leisurely bike ride through the 5 boro's. Its a great way to see some area's you only see in your car. I never thought I'd be biking on the Verrazano Bridge, BQE or Queensborough Bridge.
