What's the Hook on Van Brunt St.
Last nite, What's the Hook photos were on display at Mark Van S. Studio on Van Brunt Street in Red Hook. The display was refreshing as it took every photo tagged in on flickr in a group and showed it to the outside projected on its doors. It was a great way to see some great photos. Kudo's to Harriet and What's the Hook...

June 1st Walk
Today's destination was two fold: Kentler Gallery to see "What's the Hook" exhibit and to the First Annual Gowanus Green Festival. I was fortunate to partake in the "What's the Hook" event last year where people were invited to take photos of Red Hook during a week long period and then submit to a flickr pool. During this summer, photos have been selected to be shown in several venues across Red Hook. I recommend trying to see the work, its great to see so what each person sees. Check below for locations:

The big talk today on the Brooklyn blogs is the Harbor Seal found in Red Hook yesterday. So I thought I would share my own Windsor Place cat. She has been called Stinkerbell, Homer, Stinky, Fatso but we love her just the same.
And I promised Brooklynometry a picture of my red kitchen, it doesn't come close to her yellow kitchen but it has some of that old feel.

I was able to witness the Red Hook vendors for the first time, it would be a shame if they got rid of them. They are a part of the culture and livelihood in Red Hook.
